Come experience joy, have fun, be playful, and discover our own magnificence through painting as a process, rather than as a means to create a product. Can we paint without taking ourselves so seriously? Intuitive painting is not about solving problems or coming up with answers, but it is about being in the present moment of life itself, and the self-awareness that being in the present moment brings.

Can we open ourselves to the painting that is waiting for us to find, the painting that is deep within, when we can become quiet enough to allow it to express itself, and in the process open ourselves to our unique voice?

Intuitive Painting is painting as a process, as a means for self expression, moving through creative blocks, finding your authentic voice and experiencing the joy of painting. It is not just for artists but also for anyone looking for a creative outlet and awareness of our own intuitive and creative gifts. This is not about producing a result, a product or a technique. It is the pure expression of self, the process of creating.

Details: Bring an apron or old shirt, comfortable shoesThe workshop will be an intensive experience in the process of painting. There will be a break for lunch, and you may want to take a walk, sit in nature, or relax between the morning and afternoon sessions. Bring your lunch, or go to nearby grocery stores or restaurants. Although the work is very focused, each student will be going at their own pace, taking breaks as needed. This will be a practice in being in the moment and in finding your own freedom.

Artist Bio:
Judith Forst studied art at UCLA, American University, the Corcoran School of Art, and the Torpedo Factory Art School. She was the Executive Director of The Greater Reston Arts Center.
